Exhibition: Painters of yesteryear & Personalities of yesteryear

In September 2024, to mark the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Dison and to complement the Heritage Days, the ASBL Les Amis d'Adolphe Hardy has decided to devote its annual exhibition ‘Quelques personnalités d'autrefoisé’ (Some personalities from the past) to personalities who lived through the dark period of history that was the Second World War.

They will be pleased to present brief biographical notes on servicemen, prisoners, members of the Resistance, draft dodgers and other citizens who wrote about this period in their lives. Discover the story of Madeleine de Frésart and her husband, Doctor René Dubois, of the postman Nicolas Demortier, of Nicolas Maron, the municipal secretary of Dison, and of Jules Gengler, a second-year medical student.

The ‘Painters of yesteryear’ exhibition features works by René Polinard from Deignét, Louis Marville and Albert Jeangette from Dison, Toussaint Closset from Verviers and Henri Koumoth from Chaineut.

The exhibition will take place on the mezzanine floor of the ASBL showroom and will be open throughout September from Monday to Thursday, 9am to 12pm and 1pm to 4pm, and on Fridays from 9am to 12pm, with the exception of Friday 27 and Monday 30 September.
