Exhibition and events: EX PERCEPTION at the church of Sainte-Julienne

  • People with limited mobility

If art is made of what we perceive of the world, how can we reveal the reality of difference? EX PERCEPTION brings together artists with disabilities from Zone-art and Mouvement Personne D’abord to provide them, for a few days, with a space that matches their creativity. Gil Delogne and Pierre-Eric Baibay invite us to touch, hear, and experience their creations.

Exhibitions, on Saturday 7/09 from 10 AM to 5 PM and Sunday 8/09 from 12:30 PM to 5 PM

Zone-art Asbl invests the building to enhance, question, and even announce the future architectural and furniture heritage of the church.

Mouvement Personne D’abord Asbl hangs its canvases in swaying clusters from the vaults of the nave. Separately, there is a collection of urbex photos, sometimes abstract, from the city of Verviers.

Pierre-Eric Baibay inaugurates his traveling exhibition with dyads of sculptures made from stones from the depths of the sea.

Gil Delogne divides time and elevates it, as long as an angel passes by, through his sound sculpture.

Activities

Saturday at 11 AM, 1 PM, and 4 PM: Sound workshops with Gil Delogne, percussionist and sound therapist, who invites us to resonate our senses in harmony with his instruments.

Saturday and Sunday at 2 PM: Interactive wanderings with Pierre-Eric Baibay, sculptor and smile liberator, who invites us to interactive wanderings in the church.

Saturday at 10 AM and 3 PM and Sunday at 3 PM: Guided tours by historians who tell us the story of Julienne of Cornillon (the Saint), Sainte-Julienne (the church), and Thirion, the architect.
