Summer cycling tours: explore the region!

For the 14th year, the municipalities of Baelen, Dison, Limbourg (Dolhain), Jalhay, Herve, Olne, Pepinster, and Verviers, along with the Jalhay-Sart tourism office, the Pays de Herve Tourist Office, and the Pays de Vesdre Tourist Office, are once again joining forces to offer families a new series of summer bike rides. Thus, between June 16 and September 8, 2024, ten new routes will be offered. These routes, ranging from 10 km to 30 km, are organized on Sundays.

The main feature of these rides is that they are done at a leisurely pace. This is not about athletic performance but about combining gentle exercise with the discovery of the most beautiful landscapes in our region. Bicycles with electric assistance are, of course, accepted. Other interesting features: each participant is offered breakfast starting at 9 am; the group start, supervised by volunteers, is at precisely 10 am; a light snack is provided halfway through; and technical assistance is available for minor repairs during the ride.

Participants are asked to wear a helmet and have a bike in good condition (everyone brings their own bike). Children who are able to cover the proposed distances from the age of 8 are welcome but remain under the supervision of their parents, particularly regarding compliance with traffic regulations.

100 breakfasts will be available. Additionally, the contest to win a mountain bike worth €250 is maintained; you just need to participate in at least one of the ten rides in the program and fill out the contest entry form.

Please note that the organization of the rides is dependent on the weather. We invite you to check the City of Verviers website the day before the departure to stay informed of the latest information if necessary.
